Student Spotlight: Giulia Triassi

Meet JPR’s very own Giulia Triassi, AKA Auntie Giu Giu! (@auntiegiuiu)! She was born in Montreal, Canada and grew up right here in the #LBC. With a #PR emphasis, Auntie Giu Giu dreams of working in PR with her idol, Snoop Dogg.

Auntie Giu Giu is a fantasy persona birthed from the idea of that one ‘auntie’ who shows up to family parties fashionably late, decked out in a super ‘extra’ outfit. Her persona is directly related to how fans call her icon, ’Uncle Snoop.’ She branded herself as a #SnoopDogg connoisseur by accident, but it took on a life of its own developing into a #WestCoast, hip-hop lifestyle.

Giulia decided to put her own face on a t-shirt and wear it because she didn’t know anyone else who had done it.

The side-by-side pose with her friend wearing the shirt was a wild and random idea, but it created a lot of buzz on her social media. What started as a joke in January 2017, turned into a complete branding of her alter-ego, Auntie Giu Giu.

She received tons of attention & people even requested the t-shirts. Auntie Giu Giu has sold over 100 t-shirts and her fans have been rockin’ them in #LA, #LongBeach, Mexico, London, New Zealand, Bali, #Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco and Miami.

Giulia’s goal is to show that even a simple face can be branded, as long as it is done in the right, creative way. She believes that social media is an important tool that can be used for a broad range of ideas — no matter how crazy — from the convenience of your own phone.

Some #FunFacts! 1) Giulia danced in a booth on the Queen Latifa Show because Snoop Dogg was performing. 2) She has been to Japan, but not the Japanese garden on campus. 3) Giulia loves chicken and waffles & wants to be Snoop Dogg’s BFF!
